Useful information

Making a booking

Please contact us by telephone or email initially, to check whether places are available (for fixed-date trips, such as races, passage trips and daysails) or to make sure that the dates you want are free.

Confirmed bookings should be accompanied by a 25% deposit — please see our Conditions of booking.

Notes on bookings: A trip cannot be confirmed until we have a minimum of eight passengers in total booked, but we can often join individuals and smaller groups with others to make up numbers. Sailings and timings are always subject to weather, tides and the skipper’s discretion.

Catering

We offer good home-style cooking while you are on board. Please notify us of special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, when you confirm your booking, or as early as possible in advance of the trip.

As an alternative, we can offer gourmet cuisine to order — prices on request — or you can opt for self-catering and receive a 10 per cent discount on the price of your trip.

Clothing and footwear

As with any sailing trip in UK waters, it can become quite chilly under way and it has been known to rain! Passengers are advised to bring their own warm clothes and wet weather gear; also wellies, particularly for trips which are likely to involve transfers to and from the shore by bargeboat.

Non-slip deck shoes are recommended; high heels (stilettos) are not permitted to be worn on deck or down below — they are not safe for the wearer and can damage the decks.

Accommodation

All bedding and bed-linen is provided, but not towels.
